frequently asked Questions
→ Since everyone uses different amounts of powder and every plant powder swells differently, there is no general information on this. Tip: First put the powder in a bowl and then add the water, slowly, until you get a yogurt-like substance - not too thick & not too thin.
→ Yes, please follow the instructions carefully for each color. The tea water is not used for coloring power but rather offers an optimal pH value for the herbal hair color to work. Tea water is used for all colors, whether light or dark.
→ Yes, all of our colors can be mixed with each other, create your own tone - feel free ♥
→ If you don't want to buy several colors individually to get the color you want, we will be happy to mix your individual color according to your specifications. You have 90g of paint available, which we can mix together according to your instructions. For special requests, additional colors that are not available ready-made in the shop are available.

→ One pack contains 90g of color powder, which is enough for shoulder-length, thick hair. About 70g is enough for normal, medium-length hair.
Approximately 60g is needed for very good coverage. Long and thick hair sometimes needs up to 120g. This is a rough estimate, every hair is different in thickness and absorbency!!!
Please don't skimp on the powder, if there is too little pigment, then the coverage will be worse!!!
The values mentioned serve as a rough guide.
→ You decide for yourself how intense the color should be. The general rule:
The longer the exposure time, the darker, richer, more intense and longer lasting the color becomes. We recommend ideally 4 hours for dark gray paint coverage. For light tones 2 to 3 hours. It depends on how intense and dark you want your tone to be! Be careful with stressed chemical residues, the color may be more intense. "I have an allergy to chemical hair dyes, can I still use herbal hair dye?"
→ Our herbal hair colors do not contain any chemical ingredients or additives. They are made from 100% vegetable powder.
Note: Everyone can also react to natural substances, such as walnut or chamomile. We therefore recommend that if you are prone to allergies, you do a patch test beforehand.
Mix a little powder with water and rub it on the inside of your upper arm and put a plaster over it. Leave this on your skin for 24 hours and see if there is a reaction. You can also order the allergy package in the shop!
→ There's nothing you can do except be patient. Every herbal hair color needs at least 48 to 72 hours to fully develop in the air. She needs this time to catch up. It is completely normal that ashy, cold tones can initially appear a bit greenish on gray hair. The greenish glow goes away on its own. Since the hair is always mixed between light and dark hair, it is completely normal that the color can appear a little uneven immediately after dyeing. This also happens on its own in the aftermath. It is also normal for gray hair to appear a little lighter at the beginning, but it also darkens over time. What plant hair color dyers really need is patience, patience, patience...give your color the time it needs!!!
It is normal for the areas that still have residual chemicals to appear a little dry after dyeing. This is because our paints do not contain any chemical moisturizers or silicones. This feels a bit unusual because you are used to chemistry. Plant hair color is also comparable to deep cleansing care without additives. If you have always dyed your hair chemically, it is like a kind of weaning for your hair. Natural hair that has been colored with herbal hair dye usually does not need any additional care. If you have chemical residue, we recommend applying the Aloe Vera Splash to lengths and tips after coloring. It contains no fat, only moisture. After washing your hair for the first time, you are welcome to use our hair mask. The more often you use the herbal hair color, the better your hair cuticle will become. Switching to natural color takes a bit of patience, but it's really worth it!
Please listen to my podcast episode 6: Switching from chemical hair color to herbal hair color. Chemical hair color has artificial softeners and gap fillers and makes the hair appear smooth even though it is damaged. The herbal hair color removes these artificial substances and the hair becomes free, making the damaged structure visible. Herbal hair color can't do anything about that . !!!It's not the plant hair color that makes you dry, it's the chemical residue that's dry!!!
The hair mask will help you afterwards!
The warm shiny hairpack is essentially a plant hair color without pigments. You can use it if you would like to care for your hair intensively without changing its color. It brings fullness, shine and volume to your hair without changing its color. It doesn't change your hair color, but adds a warm glow to your hair. Gray hair may even take on a light shade of blonde.
Be careful with chemical blonde residues , as the hair is very stressed, it can give off a golden shimmer!
Feel free to come to my consultation if you have any questions!!!
The cool shiny hair pack brings a cool shimmer to your hair. You can't cover gray hair with it because it has no pigment. Is your gray hair turning a little yellow? Then the cool shiny is ideal for getting a cooler shine. Additionally, it can take some of the golden color out of your hair if your dye is too golden! See Cool Blonde in 2 Steps...
If you just want to change your roots, you can apply the shiny hairpack to the lengths and tips at the same time and let both work together to care for the lengths and tips at the same time.
No, Thatsmeorganic plant hair color cares for your hair, brings shine, volume and fullness. Only if you still have chemical residues in your hair can the hair appear dry the first time you use it, because in principle the herbal hair color acts like a deep cleansing on the chemical residues and the damaged hair does not receive moisturizers and silicones as usual. Then simply apply our Thatsmeorganic hair mask/conditioner.
Healthy hair that has been colored with herbal hair color remains healthy and cared for and does not dry out, on the contrary it is additionally protected.
No, that's not possible, because Thatsmeorganic herbal hair colors do not contain any chemicals, just pure plant powder. It is generally possible to color darker.
However, I have noticed that herbal hair coloring causes the cuticle layer of the hair to be pulled together and smoothed very nicely. This allows the light that hits the hair to be reflected much more strongly. For example, our summer blonde hair looks as if it were a little lighter.
In general, our hairbrushes are for every hair. If you have thick and long hair, then we recommend the Mediterranean made from olive wood. It has slightly stronger bristles so you can get through your thick hair.
We have lighter brushes with lighter wood and shorter bristles and we have heavier brushes with heavier wood and longer bristles.
For thick and long hair and curls, I recommend the heavier brushes. Lighter brushes are also suitable for children and short hair. It's simply a matter of taste and also a question of handling!
You can clean your hairbrush by taking our everyday shampoo and washing your brush with it and rinsing it again. It is then important that you place your brush with the bristles facing down on a Cewa or towel so that the water can drain out of your brush and the wood does not swell. With the Kralle Kalle brush cleaner you can remove the hair beforehand!
The pure powder yes, it can be stored dry, cool and dark.
If you have already mixed the powder with water, then don't. It always has to be freshly mixed so that the coloring power is there. You can't put it in the fridge or freeze it either. That's why always use as much powder as you actually need!
Yes, herbal hair color needs the swelling power of water so that it can adhere well to the hair. Therefore, please do not apply the color to dry hair. Then the coloring strength is significantly worse.
You can reapply the color and it will become darker. Next time, extend the exposure time and it will also become darker. Or choose a darker shade next time. The hot Hedwig , our warming cap, can help you intensify your results!!
There may be an error in the application. Did you follow the instructions exactly? Above all, the aftereffect time is crucial. The color lasts for 3 days. Therefore, always wait patiently for the aftereffects!
My customers generally come back after about 4 to 12 weeks and I then only color the roots because our herbal hair color is permanent. But it depends on the structure of the hair. A healthy cuticle layer permanently retains its natural pigments. A damaged cuticle layer with chemicals is opened and can also lose the pigments more easily.
Yes, but only as a dry shampoo, not wet as a shampoo. The pigment must remain on the hair for 3 days so that oxidation with oxygen can take place!
